Site of transgene integration - (Sep/08/2006 )

I am trying to find out the the integration site of a transgene inside the transgenic cotton. I am little bit confused that how it could be performed. plz guide me.

Hi chandra,
I don't have experience with plants, but regarding the identification of transgene insertion sites in murine genomic DNA there are a couple of popular strategies. One is "inverse PCR" and the other is "gene walking" (there are several kits available-check out biocompare.com). Both of which may be applicable to your system and there are plenty of protocols on the net.
