SEAP Assay for promoter activity - (Aug/23/2006 )

Hi fellow researchers!

I'm going to start on CYP2C8 promoter work soon. I'm thinking of using SEAP Chemiluminiscent Assay (Clontech) for detecting promoter activity (seems better that Luciferase)............as advised by my collegue. Just wondering has anyone had experience with this kit? Pls advise.

Thanks............ smile.gif

I guess everyone is different! I switched my project from SEAP to luciferase because I think luciferase is better, easier to analyze quicker... unless you want to do a timecourse of expression (remove media from transfected cells at 2, 4, 6,8... hrs) then I think luciferase is better than SEAP... guess it is just personal preference...

AKP halflife is pretty long, is it right? In this sense luc would be be better for promoter studies.
