What are some of the model drugs in use in medical field? One example is Methylene blue.

Methylene Blue is a potent inhibitor of soluble guanylyl cyclase thus decreasing cGMP levels [and nitric oxide].

I've no idea what the original question is about.

Model drugs? Do you mean drug used in models or drug which epitomise specific treatment areas.

Methylene blue is purely used in experimental pursuits.

As well as in med student pranks as a drop in someones drink turns their urine blue. laugh.gif

ISTR it also having a use in medicine/surgery for tracing internal "plumbing leaks", but I could be wrong on that.

If not actual drug, then it is model drug. Model drugs are drugs used to carry out experiment on drug delivery device (DDD). Methylene blue is one of them. This is used because the colour is dark enough to see the diffision out of the DDD. What are some other model drugs, researchers use?

does charge make any difference to you? calcein (anionic); rhodamine (cationic).

I don't think so. So calcein and rhodamine are some of the model drugs researchers used for drug delivery device/system experiment?

Anymore model drugs researchers used?
