Total RNA from archival tissue that is fixed and paraffin embedded (like brain t - (Aug/14/2006 )

I'm looking for a protocol to extract Total RNA from archival brain tissue that is fixed and paraffin embedded. If you can offer any suggestions that might be please let me know.

There are now some kits available that allow you to extract RNA from fixed materials. It's for formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded tissues (FFPE). I don't know if it's suitable for brain.

They have the:
- RNeasy FFPE kit (qiagen)
- High pure RNA paraffin kit (Roche)
Also Ambion and BioVentures have those kits, but I don't know the names. Maybe the biocompare website can help you?
