western blot loading control for secreted saliva proteins - (Aug/02/2006 )

I am running SDS-PAGE and western blotting for proteins found in saliva samples. I have not been able to find a protein that I can use a a proteing loading control. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Why do you need that for? Your MW standard can serve that purpose. You can use Bio-Rad prestained markers.

Thanks for the reply. I think that I may not have been as clear as I need to be. I want to be able to compare the amounts of a given protein between samples receiving different treatments. I load equal amounts of total protein into each well. For cell lysates, labeling for beta actin or GAPDH is often used as protein loading control but I want to know if there is a protein found in saliva that can serve a similar purpose?
