CIP is often short for CIAP = calf intestine alkaline phosphatase

Just use SAP (Shrimp alkaline phosphatase) instead : much better activity, works in most buffers, and easy to inactivate after use.

As Gerd has said, CIP is calf intestinal alkaline phosphatase. So it is actually one type of alkaline phosphatase!
