How to I make 30mL of a 2% sol'n from 16% stock? - (Jul/15/2006 )

I can't think today.

I hope its not too late for your experiment.

The simpliest way to make it is to take 4 ml of 16% sol'n (4x16=64), add 28 ml water to make up 32 ml of 2% sol'n(32x2=64), then take away 2 ml.

Well, I hope you get the point for the next time.

N1 x V1= N2 x V2 : 2 x30 / 16 = 3.75 : take 3.75 ml from the stock and make up the volume to 30 ml. i.e., add 26.25 ml of which ever solvent you want.

hi,
i feel it is unusual to ask for a simple calculation in forum, wait for the answer and perform the experiment.

anyway other way of calculation is

-16%/2% = 8times

-since u need 30 ml of final volume
30ml / 8times = 3.75ml of 16% stock

-rest 26.25ml is solvent.

gud luk
payeli.
