Excel for Statistics? - (Jul/05/2006 )

Pages: Previous 1 2

SPSS, SAS, R and other powerful stat programs are too complex for unqualified user. At least I tried S-PLUS and it was beyond my level and I guess you have to lern it well to operate effectively. For someone who needs basic statistic tests from time to time in most biological studies something less complex is desireable. Excell can be a first step for simple mathematical calculations. GraphPad prism is relatively simple program with statistical tests and excellent graphs making capability. This can be used with combination to excel. There are also many other stat programs around, for example some labs use Unistat, that is sort of extension to excell and so on.
