Amplification of gene (CHH,MIH,GIH) from prawns. - Amplification of gene using primers designed on the basis of cDNA sequences (Jun/28/2006 )

Iam trying to amplify the gene CHH,MIH and GIH of prawn. For this i have designed primers based on the cDNA sequences. I would like to know whether i'll be able to get the amplification of these genes from the genomic DNA using the primers which were designed based on cDNA sequences. kindly reply immediately.

Hi,

It depends on which is the region that your primers will amplify. If this region contains introns in the genomic region, you wouldn't probably be able to amplify. You should check where your primers bind and check the length of the region you would like to amplify
