northern blot probes - (Jun/16/2006 )

Hi all!!!, i just at the point to prepare a Northern Blot, and i am wondering if i can use the same primers that i design for my RT-PCR as a probes in the Northern!!!!

That depends. If you want to use a DNA-probe, you can use the same as for a Southern Blot, e.g.g by labeling wiith ECL. If you want to be more specific, you might prefer a RNA-Probe which is of course different and also more difficult to prepare, as you have do to in vitro transcription. The advantag is that your hybridisation is strand specific then.
