Stick T7 on custom primer for sequencing? - (Jun/06/2006 )

I'm trying to amplify a region of DNA and am designing primers for this region. Can I synthesize a T7 primer on the 5' end of my primer so that I can use a universal T7 primer for sequencing? Will this give me a better sequence? Thanks.

just use one of the PCR primers to sequence.....you won't get any reall increase in seq length or quality by adding T7......

I agree with aussieuk -- just sequence using each of the PCR primers (in separate reactions, of course) for a two-direction pass...
