Full and Partial Digestion - (Jun/03/2006 )

What is a full and partial digestion?

-inkey-

My interpretation

Partial digest: short incubation to digest only 1 site of an enzyme when more are present.
Full digestion: all the sites of the enzyme are completely digested

in french, partial digestion is "digestion ménagée". It's quite like if you were gentle with your DNA... sthg familiar with a pet but with a piece of DNA blink.gif
anyway, as scolix mentionned, it's a digestion where not all sites are digested. It allows you to estimate the number of sites and the localization (roughly) knowing if you have a mtation in a site or not for ex.
