HELP! WHY DOUBLING DILUTIONS? - (May/28/2006 )

Hi can anyone help?

What's the purpose of carrying out doubling dilutions?

-evageline-

hi
by doing doubling dilutio, you're able to know the relative concentration of a certain protein in your sample. Doubling dilutions helps to cover a wide range of protein concentration as the dilution is 1 2 4 8 16 32....

basically when diluting you samples, you are also diluting out factors that could be interfering with your results i.e. at lower dilutions these factors give less and less false positives, so the basic premise is that if you results are showing a linear decrease then you can be more sure about their validity
