What is in PAXgene colection tubes - (May/12/2006 )

Hi! Do you know what is the stabilizer agent of PAXgene tubes. Do you have any experience with it? Do you know any alternative? I need to transport my blood and bone marrow samples for RNA extraction and I'm searching for a solution.

Thank you!!!!

The technology is based around cationic detergents. The detergent forms an insoluble complex with the nucleic acids and precipitates out of solution, thereby becoming physically protected from RNases

The IP on this is water tight so there are no commercial alternatives. If you wanted to make your own you could get hold of the patent and work out a recipe, but I personally would just buy the product so as to be sure of the quality control from QIAGEN/BD
