Removal of etoh from purified samples - my gel purified samples contaminated with ethanol. how to get rid?? (May/10/2006 )

hi,
can someone give me a detail protocol for that?
thank you very much.

hi
what kind of sample is it?
I assulme it may be DNA/RNA. So the best method is to re precipitate your material and let them dry longer.

DNA samples.
as my samples already contaminated with ethanol. so do i still need to add ethanol to precipitate? If so, how much more etoh do i need to add?

I would precipitate with ethanol once again and let them dry longer as Fred suggested.

ok thanks.
I precipitated my samples with etoh/NaOAc combo.

drying using a speedvac will remove all etoh...its just that the pellet becomes hard and compact. could also use drying in a vacuum dessicator.

hi
using speedvac is not the best thing, as it may cause DNA shearing, especially for long fragments (plasmids, genimoc DNA...)
