DNA extraction of agrobacterium, i need help - (Apr/26/2006 )

dear all,
is extracting DNA from bacteria mean that we're also extracting DNA from its plasmid?
I was supposed to extract my Ri plasmid from agrobacterium for detecting its virG and rolC gene
However, I got mixed up and end up extracting the chromosomal DNA instead
I run PCR by using the DNA as the template and rolC and virG as the primers
What I got is very thick and bright band
The marker band turn out fine
How can I correct this?

What method are you using?

I once did it using Qiagen's miniprep kit without a problem (confirmed plasmid with restriction digest).
