Western Blot of PKCalpha - (Apr/13/2006 )

I am currently performing western blotting of PKCalpha. I am getting a double band at what is the expected molecular mass. I've noticed in one paper that when you have subpopulations of activated and inactivated PKCalpha you get a double band but I have no evidence that this is the case in my experiment.

I have performed no treatment on my cells. Would I expect to see both populations?

Anyone done this before and seen something similar.

yes, you should expect to see both populations because they both exist inside the cell as long as it continues to function.
