Dimer of PCR products? - (Apr/12/2006 )

After I cut the DNA fragment amplified by PCR from the gel and purified by QIAquick Extraction Kit, I loaded part of the samples on the gel again to quantify the concentration of DNA. I could always see another unexpected band acompanying the band I expected. The size of the unexpected band seems always as twice as the expected one. Has anybody else encounted this kind of problem while doing PCR and DNA purification? Does anybody know why? I can not explain it as the dimer of two same DNA fragments. sad.gif

Nobody knows? or you guies just want to keep it as a secret? smile.gif
I will try to post the gel picture in a few days.

this question was answered in another post on the same day, if you search 'PCR dimer' on this site you will find it
