How to freeze dry / lyophilize enzymes in microplate wells - (Apr/10/2006 )

Hi, I would like to find out what is the best way to freeze dry biologically active purified recombinant enzymes into microplate wells? What additives should be added to ensure that enzyme activity is maintained when taken out of storage? Given the small volume per well, I am afraid that the protein samples will be lost if I just parafilm and freeze dry the microplate in a freeze drying flask.

you might be able to speedvac it in a rotor that handles plates.
