Why DNA insoluble in ethanol - (Apr/04/2006 )

Can anyone help me with why DNA dissolves in 10 x TE but is insoluble in ethanol? I'm a bit lost with it : (

hi
TE is hydrophilic and ethanol isn't... But 60% ethanol is not enough hydrophobic, and DNA dissolves itself in 60%etoh

10x TE is only 100 mM Tris and 1 mM EDTA, i.e., pretty much just water.
