Anyone has experience to grow sespension 293 cells? - (Mar/31/2006 )

It seems Freestyle suspension 293 cells are taking a long time to grow granted they're in serum free media. May I use regular DMEM to grow them and change to serum free media before transfection?

depends of what is your goal.
Generally, cells are growing in dmem with serum. Transfection of suspension cell (note there is a thread in the forum on that topic) is done in serum free medium.
