Anyone knows the role of polyadenosine in DNA extractions? - (Mar/28/2006 )

Hi
Does anyone know why add PolyA when extract DNA?
thanks!

it can work sort of like a carrier, and make it easier to purify DNA if you expect a wimpy yield

does this help?

Yes, thanks!

I added polyA in the lysis buffer at the start of the extraction. Do you know the chemistry of this reaction, or any details, or where I can find out about this? Google gave me lots of stuff about mrna polyA tail, and nothing about DNA extraction.

THanks again!

do a google with search terms

"polyA extraction dna"

and you will get some hits, that will hopefully help you
