VEGF Western blots - (Oct/01/2001 )

I am trying to find out if anybody has done western blots for vegf isoforms using A-20 antibody from Santa Cruz Biotechnology.if so have they really picked up the isoforms?

I have the same question. Some people use ELISA to detect VEGF, which is better for VEGF: Western or ELISA.

I also tried VEGF antibody from Santa Cruz and no signal showed up on Western blot.

I appreciate if you can share your experience with VEGF. Thanks.

The R&D ELISA kit for human VEGF seems to work OK. I could detect low amounts VEGF which increased on stimulation with IL-6/sIL-6R in primary peritoneal mesothelial cells.

All the best,

I have used santa cruz monoclonal antibody against the VEGF isoform 165 (sc-7269) and got a good single band.

hi... i'm doing Western blotting for VEGF at the moment, using the same VEGF antibody isoform from Santa Cruz. I used MDA-MB-231 cell lysate to detect VEGF. However, not a single band was seen. Do u mind sharing wirh me what's the amount of protein u loaded for elecrophoresis? How did u goa about tyill u get the nice single band? I used 30ug and the dilution i used were 1:200, 1:400, 1:500, 1:800, 1:1000. I've yet to see any bands yet... My I know what is the size of VEGF protein u detected?
Thanks
