extract protein from SDS PAGE - (Feb/09/2006 )

Hi,
does anyone have experience extracting protein from SDS- PAGE after coomassie stainning?

yes but you can only use the protein to run it on another gel. lets say if you want to treat it before the second run with some chemicals.

just cut the band out and incubate it in an ependorf tube.

other tech is to use a gel extracter instument that we had in my old lab. I do not remember from what company.

in the future try not to stain the gel for better results
