Alternative markers - a universally expressed alternative to beta actin wanted (Feb/07/2006 )

Hi,
I'm planning to concentrate my protein sample down into the 50-100kD range. Are there any universally expressed markers in this range? I'm trying the In Gel detection method for protein rather than the western blot.
Currently for unconcentrated protein I use beta actin as the marker, if I take the less than 50kD fraction and load it on my get can that act as a marker as well?
Thanks
Rosie

hi
p53 is a good marker i think(53kD). TBP protein is 47. And i don't know the exact MW of the GAPDH protein... but i think it's around 40kd...

But try this page : ABcam, search results for "loading control"
