[font=Garamond][size=5]

smile.gif Hai Friends,
I have seen in articles regarding ribotyping, etc... people mentioning about the copy number of the particular gene. How to find out the copy number? any ideas.

Maybe a Q-PCR is an option?

Southern blotting with a restriction digest is the best way, I believe.

Hi neo,

I am also working on that and iam using southern blotting to find out the gene copy number. you have to look for the no. of bands at different positions onec you digest with a enzyme which cut in between your gene and blot it....

You can only use a DNA method for this
Ether southern or f.i.s.h. can give you the answer not qPCR.
