Vector - Proteins Folding (Feb/01/2006 )

Dear Fellows
regards

Can any body tell me what is the difference in pET 32 and pGEX vector. If both are for prokaryotic
gene expression then which one is better for use. I am not getting it.
Please explain me.
best regards

They´re working with different promoters:

pET with T7 lac promoter. therfore you (your E.coli) needs the lac promoter and the T7 gene, both are on the DE3 insert. Conclusion: Only BL21 DE3 works with pET.

pGEX uses the tac promoter, this is natural in every E.coli, so with pGEX you can use nearly every cell line.

OK???
