CT values range from std.curve vs your samples - (Jan/12/2006 )

Dear forum menbers,
Do you know if the CT values of the samples are outside of the range of the CT values covered by the standard curve, can I still use this standard curve for the calculation of expression in the samples?
Thanks a lot for your help biggrin.gif

I would say 'no' but I am not positive

I do not use the standard curve method, I use delta delta Ct. but, I would not trust a Ct outside of the range of your curve, because how can you calculate efficiency? the Ct could be bogus and you wouldn't know, if the efficiency was different for that Ct value/starting template

good luck; perhaps ABI can shed some light for you
