DH5 alpha competent cells instead of M15? - competent cells for pQE30 construct (Dec/20/2005 )

hi, i have a Qiagen pQE30 construct that i need to transform into competent cells for transformation. Qiagen recommends M15 cells but i was wondering if DH5 alpha would also work. anyone done this before? thanks

im not sure about M15 cells but i was under the impression that DH5a could be used for most things.

Might be worth checking if qiagen make M15 and not DH5a!!!hence the recommendation!!

hehe, yeah Qiagen does sell M15...with a particular pRep4 plasmid. the thing is, DH5a does not have any lac regulation, which is why i found out (after i posted this) that it won't work with this construct. thanks for your input.
