Optimal size for qRt-PCR - (Dec/05/2005 )

Hi,

I'd like to know what is the optimal length of DNA sequences for to do a Real Time RT-PCR ? is size of 200-300 bp might be used ?

Thank you

According to ABI, shorter is better...optimal is 100bp-150bp (at least for single-plex; I do not know if this is the same for multiplex)

Thanks amikins

It depends on which probe you are using.
If you are using SYBR Green, 200-300 shoud be fine.
If you are using TaqMan probes, 100-150 should be fine.
