3' - 5' activity of Taq DNA Polymerase - (Nov/25/2005 )

Anyone know anything at all about this residual activity of Taq DNA Polymerase. Any way of completely inhibiting it? Any heat stable polymerases that completely lack this activity?

Please determine why you would like to remove the activity. If it affects the downstream experiment, you can use the PCR purification kit for removing it before moving onwards.

It was to try to avoid any possible nibbling away at 3' end of an oligo. I don't know if this happens. It's just that there is a paper "Improvement of the 3'-5' Exonuclease activity of Taq DNA Polymerase ...." Mol Cells 7 419-424 Park et al (1997) and from the title I thought that there must be some sort of detectable activity to start with if you are going to do any improving.
