why are two different lysis buffers used for the lysis of RBCs and WBCs..what is the significance in using the two??

i agre with sasu.
But maybe the difference come from the fact that WBC have a nucleus and RBC don't

Red Blood Cells are much more osmotically sensitive and will therefore lysis before WBC. Many people use this to remove RBC from a lymphocyte prep.
