lysis buffer - (Oct/27/2005 )

dear members,

why are two different lysis buffers used for the lysis of RBCs and WBCs..what is the significance in using the two??

plze also give the composition of wbc lysis buffer ohmy.gif

i agre with sasu.
But maybe the difference come from the fact that WBC have a nucleus and RBC don't

Red Blood Cells are much more osmotically sensitive and will therefore lysis before WBC. Many people use this to remove RBC from a lymphocyte prep.
