DNA extraction - (Oct/12/2005 )

why we using 10-20 mg of animals tissue and 100 mg of plants tissue as sample in DNA extraction experiment?

i'm not sure, but i think it's because cell breaking is more efficient if you work with mammalian cells. If i' not wring, plant cells have a kind of cell wall?... i was not very good at botany so forgive me if errors occurs...
