Taq polymerase - (Oct/09/2005 )

Oh nooo...
3 days ago I received my new Taq polymerase from supplier. But unfortunately I did misreading of storage instruction and I kept the reagents in fridge, 4 C. I just realized my mistake today that I should`ve keep them at -20 C.
Are they still ok now if I use them?
Oooh....I promise I will read the instruction more carefully next time...aaaah.....

It is OK to store polymerase at 4C for a short period of time, and of course it will work fine.

Oh really??....
Ok, thanks a lot for ur reply...I`m so relieved
Thanks!

Hmm how about three days in RT? blink.gif
We previously had a power failure in the whole building for three continuous days, then after a week, another blackout for 6 hours.
We are having some prob with the PCR (bands and patterns not consistent), wondering is the prob due to degradation of DNA template, or enzymes, or dNTP?
We r trying to resolve the prob now, probably will purchase new enzymes, new dNTP, and extract new DNAs

Brief storage at 4C should be fine. Do not forget Taq is thermostable! it aurvives even 90C!!

Probably best to do... But sometimes I get incosisting results, which I can't derive to anything particular reason...
Don't forget to change the water as well!
