I have found an trascriptional factor domain on a cDNA sequence, Is it possible? I think that I did some hashes in cDNA preparation.

one important thing regarding transcription factors, sequence homology to a binding site does not necessarily mean anything

maybe alternatively spliced forms of mRNA may also include some regulatory regions pertaining to their alternate forms???

but I am quite sure that sequence homology is not always an indicator of functional ability
