Diluted Sample OD - (Aug/07/2013 )

Undiluted Solution has OD of >1 and after diluting two times OD is 0.6. how to calculate OD of undiluted Sample?

Is it 0.6 X 2 = 1.2 ? ( Multiplied OD by Dilution Factor)

thanks.

I think your original OD should be 2.4 assuming your dilution is 1:1.  After first dilution, you get 1.2, and 0.6 the 2nd time.

the formula is 0.6/0.5/0.5 = 2.4

May be he meaned that he diluted it at 1:2. if that was the case 1.2 was correct.
