Help: THE FLY. - (Sep/28/2005 )

1)What are three different physical characteristics that may be used to differentiate a male from a female wild type fly?

2)One of the characteristics of the multiple mutant is that the surfaces of the wings appear to be darker than those of the wild type. What is the reason for the darkened appearance of the wings?

depends on the fly

is it Drosophila? Diptera, etc there are many many genera of flies.

I'm not sure if this is true with all species, but the tail of the male is twisted a bit, like a scorpion.

hi,
try flymove if you should still need some information.

(goto 'genetics' - 'female vs. male')
