allelic deletion? - (Aug/28/2005 )

I wanted to know what is an allelic deletion? Is it only on one copy of the chromosome or on the two copies?

I believe it is on only one chromosome. That's what happens when doing knock-out experiments, you knock out one allele.

To avoid that allelic deletion you could do knock-add-on instead, where no allele gets lost...
