Hi,
If you mean ferritin - its is an iron storage complex consists of apoferritin shell with a ferric oxyhydroxide crystal interior.
It is basically used as an iron storage complex in the body. Iron is released proabbly non ezymatically in time of need.
A raised Ferritin can be indicative of iron overload but it is also an acute phase molecule - ie when the body is infected or has a chronic disease - like an inflammatory disorder - ferritin levels rise.
Low ferritin levels are indicative of an iron deficiency.

Hope that answers your question

Precisely the sort of question that does not need to be asked here. I'm not saying that you can't but I think you'd be better served using wikipedia, google or a textbook. I refer you to the controversial thread I started.
