NF-kB in transient reporter gene assay - (Aug/04/2005 )

hi,

i have problem in understanding how a plasmid containing a NF-kB sensible promoter can be used in some reporter gene assays

indeed, genetic material remains in the cytoplasm after transient transfections and activated NF-kB is directed to the nucleus...

thanks for your responses!

Hi,
Also in transient transfections the plasmid is translocated into the nucleus but is not stably integrated into the genome. Otherwise no transcription would work, if it is triggered by NFkB or any other transcription factor.
