what would you do to see if a hairpin is formed? - (Jun/14/2005 )

Hi,
Just wondering, what would you do to see if a trailing nascent strand of mRNA would form a hairpin structure? I've got a sequence that when i run through MFOLD...folds nicely, but how would you test for sure?

i don't know vey well what mfold is but in my lab colleagues use a multicuve Tm analyser in order to see if secondary structure occurs.
