do you know how to make a simple pH indicator ? (child can try)

We can use a lot of flower pigment extract to measure pH
You will see that the color of plant depent on its pH endocell.

blueberry juice, black currant juice, tea, ....

you can use some flower petals such as rosales (red pigment), african violet ...ect

Make experiment and have fun

The easier and simplest exemple is the tea. Add some drop of lemon juice into your tea cup (tea with lemon) and observe the color change !!
You can drink it after it turned yellow !! it's delicious too !
I'd prefer it up to the blak or normal tea !!
I didn't try it with coffee as I don't like it !! but if you try it, please let us know the result ....!

If you are not in a hurry, you can try to grow Hydrangea hortensis.
As my teacher told me on my very first lesson at university, it can produce blue flowers, if it is on acid substrate, or pink flowers, on basic substrate...
