Expression screening of stable transfectants? - (May/05/2005 )

Hi everyone,

I have already picked some clonies after transfecion (with pcDNA vector) and G418 selection. Next, I am going to do Western to check the expression level of my interested gene in these colonies. However, I want to know whether there are other easier methods to do this.

If western works well just stick to western which gives you conclusive results. RT-PCR is fast, but sometimes may yield artfacts in inexperienced hands. ELISA can also be used for screening.

ELISA assay may be more useful for evaluation the expression level. However, it need more time to optimize the parameters.
