growing epithelial cells from tumor - (Apr/16/2005 )

I get piece of tumor sample and I grow them in a flask after cutting the tissue in very small pieces. But i can get all of them to grow only 50% of the tumor samples grow.
Could anyone please give me suggetsions to improve my accessibility rate?

What kind of tumor is it? You need specific media for certain tumor types. I would be careful that what is actually growing out isn't fibroblasts. I had this problem for a long time.

very true, I am working on colon and i use 10%RPMI (1640), for lung I use BEGM, breast I use MEGM and for ovarians I use McCoys.
Is there a way not to let fibros grow in all of these.?
