methprimer - (Apr/02/2005 )

Hi,

If I use methprimer, how many chances that I can avoid the dimers?
Because I want to use syber green in my real time pcr.

Thanks

Methprimer is based on primer3, a very strong program for designing primers.

However, methprimer is specifically designed for methylation analysis be it MS-PCR or bisulfite seqeuncing.

If you are performing expression analysis then methprimer would not be appropriate. Might I suggest perlprimer, it was designed by a colleague of mine and it uses the latest Tm calculations for primers.

Good luck!

I guess zzylx want to do real-time MSP (qMSP). MethPrimer cannot guarantee there will be no primer dimer which is caused not only by pairing between primers but also under optimized PCR conditions.
