How long can bisulfite-treated DNA be stored - (Feb/04/2005 )

Quick question as I have read all sorts of views on this before:

How long can bisufite-treated DNA be stored in -80C freezer before it degrades. Is there any reason why it should degrade quicker than untreated DNA??

Jon,

I resuspend my bisulfite treated DNA in fresh autoclaved TE buffer and store at -20C. I have stored such DNA upto 6 months with no detectable loss of DNA and by then I have used up my batch and I have to make another batch.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

I agree with Nick. No problem for six months although some suggest no more than one month.

Make sure you store in TE, rather than water. Bis treated DNA stored in water goes off quite fast.
