Staining colonies in soft agar - (Nov/24/2004 )

Can anyone give me an idea of how to stain colonies using crystal violet or giemsa for counting colonies formed by tranformed cell lines?

I have the same question. How do you stain with Giemsa and do you need to use soft agar?
