CpG island sequence examples - database (Nov/08/2004 )

Hi, I am new to the area of DNA methylation analysis and would like to get some idea of what CpG island containing regions look like. Is there a way to access online database(s) to get a list of the known CpG islands and their sequences so they can be compared?

CpG island is stretch of DNA with high CG content and large number of CpG dinucleotides. You can find the exact definition in the literature.

The human genome databases such as www.ensembl.org have CpG island annotated and you can also use some CpG island prediction programs to check your sequence to see if there is any cpg island.
