hello,
iam new to cell culture, if my doubt sounds stupid please accept my apologies
iam making stocks for HL 60 cells
i heard like DMSO will differentiate HL 60 cells and glycerol reduce the percentage of viability when initiating your cells
so which one can i use in making stocks

No question is stupid when you are new to a technique. I always use glycerol when preparing master stocks of HL-60......specifically as you rightly pointed out that they will DIFFERENTIATE if you use DMSO. The loss of viability will be in the order of 20-30% of your total. These cells grow very well so it will only take a short period of time ( a couple of days) to get back to their original numbers
