Lyophilization - (Dec/01/2008 )

I would like to know whether a plant sample in methanol and hydrogen sulphide solution be lyophilized or not.Can there be any reaction ?

i wouldn't worry about reactions at the temperatures that are being used.

i would, however, be concerned about venting hydrogen sulfide gas into the lab. even with a cold trap to sequester vaporized solvent, some will get through and vent from the vacuum pump (even if it is an oil-filled pump, which would also require changing the oil).

if you do choose to lyophilize your sample then ensure that you do it in a closed room with adequate ventilation (or your coworkers may have a bone to pick with you).

ha ha ha......u r right.I have decided to find an alternation for my idea.
